The Sentinels and Djano peak - Adrenaline and unforgettable views in Pirin

05-06 юли
30-31 август

Without a doubt, Pirin is our favorite mountain!
And the more we visit it, the more we understand that we have only gotten to know a very small part of its beauty. Away from the familiar paths, the mountain hides its most charming sights and experiences.
The Ridge of the Sentinels is, without a doubt, one of the most alpine and memorable routes, filled with a lot of adrenaline and unforgettable emotions. We offer you a non-standard program that combines technical trails with the indescribable beauty of the Kremenski Lakes and the panoramas from Mount Djano.

This two-day trip is definitely worth it so pack your gear and let's go!

ITINERARY

Day one

Route: Bezbog refuge - Disilitsa peak - Kaimakchal peak - Ushicite - Polezhan peak - Bezbog refuge

Group meeting - 08:30 - at the Gotse Delchev refuge to get on the first chair lift to the Bezbog refuge. We have a long and very interesting day ahead of us!
After checking in at the refuge and leaving the excess luggage, we will head to the Disilishki Cirque. It's off the beaten track and hides quite a few beauties!

Taking in the beauty of the small lakes locked between Disilitsa and the northern slopes of the Great Sentinel, we will also climb the Disilitsa peak itself, and then the Kaimakchal peak.

This is where the real adventure begins!
On a narrow goat's path, we will head right under the teeth of Great Sentinel peak to step right on the very ridge after it. From here we will pass by the Little Sentinel towards Ushitsite peak. Our company will be the epic 360° views!!! From Tipitsko ridge, through Banderishki and Bashliyski Chukar, Muratov vrah and Todorka, and all the way to Vihren and Kutelo - Pirin's highest summits!
A truly unforgettable panorama!
As soon as we reach Ushitsite, the peaks to the south are revealed for us - we can already see the majestic Jengal and barely the top of Kamenitsa near Tevno Lake!
From here, our path goes to the top of Mount Polezhan, which will give us a panorama of our trek for the next day – so close, it's almost like in the palms of your hands!
After a mandatory photo break atop Polezhan, we start our descent to the Bezbog refuge, for a well-deserved hearty dinner and a good night's sleep!

Day two

Route: Bezbog refuge - Kremenski Lakes - Djano peak - Popovo lake - Bezbog refuge

Our highlight today are the crystal clear waters of the Kremenski Lakes!

We head to the valley of the Retizhe River, from where we start a steep ascent to Dolno Kremensko Lake - one of the largest and deepest lakes in Pirin. The trail then leads us through the entire cirque, and reaches the foot of Mount Djano. We have a difficult climb to the top, but every step is worth the reward that awaits us - another epic panorama. The whole of Pirin opens up before us - Oreliak, Yalovarnika, Little and Big Kamenitza, and Mitrovo Lake nestled at their foot, the King's Court, the majestic Jangal, and even the marble giants Vihren and Kutela. In front of us is the Sivriata peak, which separates the Kremensky from the Popovokapsky cirque, and we, as speechless as we are, will head precisely to Popovo lake, to find out why the priest threw his hat there... and then we return to Bezbog refuge just in time to catch the lift down to our cars.
