WINTER MOUNTAINEERING
All trips fall under one of three categories:
- beginners - the only requirement here is a descent level of physical fitness, to be motivated to challenge yourself and to be able to control your fear of heights. No other previous experience required. However, it would be easier and more enjoyable for you if you already have some experience using crampons and an ice axe.
- intermediate – these trips will challenge you even more and require you to have completed a course in Winter Mountaineering such as THIS ONE or THIS ONE. The routes are technical and you have to be in full control as you tackle the challenging sections. Before you try your hand here, it's a good idea to gain experience on one of the beginner programs.
- advanced – Climbs on the most difficult walls and traverses on the most technical winter ridges in Bulgaria! If you are already climbing on your own some of the classic winter routes and feel comfortable on the more technical ones, you have a sports climbing grade of 5c+/5c, you confidently handle the rope and equipment, and you want to to dive even deeper into the world of mountaineering, you've come to the right place! We'll take you on Great Alpine Walls, from the frozen bastions of Maljovitsa and the Lake Ice to the fierce North Face of Vihren!
