Vihren is the highest peak in the Pirin Mountains and the third highest on the Balkan Peninsula – 2914 m. Its marble slopes attract thousands of hikers every year.
We will not miss the opportunity to visit the oldest coniferous tree in Bulgaria, the Baikusheva Mura (1300 years old).
Join us on this unforgettable adventure!
Early morning transfer from Sofia or Plovdiv to Banderishka polyana in Pirin mountains. There is an option to stay overnight in Bansko the previous evening. From here, we head along a forest path to the Banderitsa hut. After just an hour, we arrive there and, after a short rest, begin the steep climb to Vihren Peak.
Once we leave the forest, we will see our final goal – the majestic marble giant Vihren! On the way up, we will be accompanied by numerous alpine chamois, which are loved by all tourists!
The last stretch before the summit is more challenging. But don’t worry! Our experienced guide is here to help us.
Finally, we are at the top and our efforts have been rewarded! The view of the entire Pirin mountain is breathtaking. Here we will have enough time to rest and take pictures.
We will descend from the summit via a different route, passing by the Vihren hut and the Baykusheva Mura – the oldest coniferous tree in Bulgaria, which is over 1300 years old!
Our adventure will end at a local tavern, where we will celebrate our successful climb.
